The Richard Wagner Society of Western Australia (Inc) was formed in 1986 by a group of people passionate about Wagner's music.

Each month the Society meets and screens one of Richard Wagner's music dramas to its members and guests. Occasionally there are presentations by interstate and international guest speakers who are experts on Wagner and his music. At supper there is always a lively discussion on the evening's performance.

You don't have to be a member to attend. Visitors and friends are most welcome to attend regular evenings at a cost of $10. This provides temporary membership for the evening.

Most events are held in The Tunley Lecture Theatre, School of Music, University of Western Australia. Supper is included. There may be other events which will be organised, depending on the availability of visiting musicians and speakers. In 2006, to celebrate twenty years of the Society in Western Australia, A backward glance: twenty years of The Richard Wagner Society of Western Australia (Inc) was published.
